The BKS Bank was founded in 1922 in Klagenfurt. The BKS Bank entered the Styrian market in 1983. And the Bank has been successful in Vienna since 1992. The Bank has also been thriving in the Slovenian, Croatian and Hungarian markets for many years. In May 2003 the BKS Bank acquired the majority of „Die Burgenländische Anlage und Kredit Bank AG“ (BAnK). On November 18, 2005 the Bank fused with the BKS Bank, so that the BKS Bank now also has branch offices in Burgenland and Lower Austria.
The BKS Bank AG is listed on the stock exchange.
The BKS Bank Group employs 860 staff in 54 branches in Carinthia, Styria, Burgenland, Vienna, Lower Austria and Slovenia.
Representative offices are in Laibach, Zagreb, Padua, Sopron and Bratislava.
The BKS Bank is also the majority shareholder of the Croatian Kvarner Banka d.d., which was renamed as BKS Bank d.d. in September 2008.
The Bank also has leasing companies in Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and Slovakia.
